This Grammy-Nominated Songwriter Bet His Career on a FinTech Startup Idea

Will Jordan wrote hits for Rihanna. Now he's building for the 73 million people who make music possible.

When Grammy-nominated songwriter Will Jordan — who has placed platinum hits with Rihanna — realized his own tax-season panic was a problem shared by 73 million freelancers, he built the solution himself. He bet everything on the idea that people like him deserved access to better tools, and built Disco: a product that automatically sets aside a percentage of freelance income into a high-yield account so tax season never catches you off guard.

Will had the idea but no blueprint for how to build it — so he took it to a Lovable hackathon at FYI, Will.i.am's creative campus. The next day his mentor called and said: "Don't stop. You have a great idea." So he didn't. He went back to Lovable and built it.

Lovable was literally my co-founder in the early days. I'd bounce ideas off it, get stuck, tell Lovable I didn't think I could do this — and we'd figure it out together.

He later brought on co-founder Terrel Jones, and together they launched Disco's beta — now live with early users lining up and investors are ready to back a seed round.
